Rappaport Prize Lecture: Matt Saunder
DeCordova and Massachusetts College of Art and Design present a free lecture by New England artist Matt Saunders, the 2015 Rappaport Prize.
Grounded in the medium of painting, Matt Saunders creates evocative, ephemeral video installations and large-scale photographs without a camera and often draws his subjects from television or film stills. His works reflect on the mutability of meaning as conveyed through diverse mediums.
All attendees will receive a free pass to visit the lecture’s co-sponsor, the deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum.
Created in 2000 and endowed in 2010, the Rappaport Prize is an annual art award presented by deCordova through the generosity of the Phyllis and Jerome Lyle Rappaport Foundation. Each prize is given to celebrate the achievement and potential of an artist who has demonstrated significant creativity and vision, and to encourage said artist to continue in a career of innovative art-making.
Limited priority seating is available for deCordova leadership and Members; please RSVP firstname.lastname@example.org or 781.259.3635.
