"Childhood Is An Endless Frontier For New Social Imaginaries"
Interspersing images from art history, cultural history and her own exhibitions, Anna Craycroft will discuss how we measure culture and ourselves according to theories about children. Part research, part speculation, the lecture will reflect on notions of agency, individuality, authorship, and ideology through images of cultural production and personal processes.
Anna Craycroft has developed a body of work that draws analogies between early child pedagogy and cultural production. Her sculptural installations, workshops, lectures, and collaborative exhibitions combine archival information with the creation of platforms that emphasize art as a vehicle to create original knowledge - most recently The Wilson Exercises REDCAT, Los Angeles & Fundacio Miro, Barcelona (2014- 2015) and C'Mon Language PICA, Portland (2013).
