Brian Collins at MassArt

  • Design and Media Center Lecture Hall 621 Huntington Avenue Boston, MA, 02115 United States (map)

Brian Collins '82 built a fantasy candy factory in Times Square, constructed a seven story toy shop in Shanghai, got drunk in the Alps with Jane Goodall, launched a climate change campaign with Al Gore, designed a book with Paul Rand, walked away from a job with Steve Jobs, produced a groundbreaking interactive music video for Azealia Banks, opened his design firm in New York (with a new branch office in San Francisco), was named an American "Master of Design" by Fast Company, launched a new product called "M" with Facebook, and produced a new look for Spotify that was recently placed on DesignWeek's list of "logo designs that defined 2015."

For his talk at MassArt, Brian will explain the risks involved in all of the above, and sho how embracing failures, disasters, mistakes, and rejections can make all the difference in the world.

And, no. It will not be pretty.
