Dr. Niko Troje
Bio Motion Lab
Dr. Troje received his PhD in Biology from the Albert Ludwigs University in Freiburg, Germany. Dr. Troje is a Canada Research Chair in Vision and Behavioural Sciences at Queen's University. He is a Professor in the Department of Psychology, and cross-appointed with the School of Computing and the Department of Biology. Dr. Troje is also an Adjunct Professor at the Centre for Vision Research at York University. His main research interest is focused on questions concerning the nature of perceptual representations. How can a stream of noisy nerve cell excitations possibly be turned into the coherent and predictable perception of a "reality"? Dr. Troje is teaching courses such as "Sensation and Perception" and he and his students are studying the perception of "Biological Motion" and other kinds of data streams.
