This workshop will utilize gestures taken from everyday behavior to generate an algorithmic choreography that will unfold within the confines of an L-shaped bench. Ranging from eye rolls to gross motor skills and vocalization, participants will
exercise movements that will be activated within a system of signals arranged by the artist duo Kwok Verrill. The workshop will culminate in a collective performance wherein each participant’s actions will be placed in relation to another’s to produce a responsive network that operates beyond defined bodily edges.

Kwok Verrill is a collaboration between Stephen Kwok, a visual artist, and Hannah Verrill, a choreographer. They are currently in residence at Chez Bushwick and will present new work this May at the Center for Performance Research in Brooklyn.

Limited capacity. RSVP to kkoseki@gsd.harvard.edu with preferred session.
