Both Mr. Dayile and Mr. Ncaphayi will present their artwork, along with a discussion about their experiences at Artist Proof Studio (APS) in Johannesburg.
Luzuko Dayile is currently on staff at APS as a printer and collaborated with Carolyn Muskat this past spring when she conducted a lithography workshop there. He is at SMFA for a two-week guest artist residency in the print area, working on stone lithography. Funding for his residency has been made possible through the Tisch College for Civic Life.
Mongezi Ncaphayi is an alumnus of both APS and SMFA. In 2011-12 he attended SMFA as an exchange student from APS. After finishing at Artist Proof, he has moved on to a career as a full-time artist, exhibiting work at David Krut New York. He is currently in residence at Mixit Studio in Somerville, preparing work for an exhibit in the spring.
