Ngoc-Tran Vu at the Boston Center for the Arts

  • Boston Center for the Arts, Black Box Theatre 539 Tremont Street Boston, MA, 02116 United States (map)

Join BCA Spring 2018 Visual Artist Resident Ngoc-Tran Vu for an interactive experience and add your perspectives and experiences to "Made Elsewhere"—a project that involves constructing a new vision of the Statue of Liberty using recycled and found materials. "Made Elsewhere" explores issues of migration and displacement—particularly of refugees and immigrants—through cultural exchange and storytelling, and it is being developed through the artist's active collaboration with local groups and organizations advocating for refugees and immigrants' rights.

Following a presentation about her project, Vu invites audience stories and contributions, and offers a workshop facilitated by invited speakers sharing their own work in this areas, as well as resources and information.

All guests are invited to bring an object or memory that connects to their roots. This event is intended to be collaborative so there will be opportunities for guests to participate, share and engage collectively.
