Sending Ceramics by Email - Ceramic Commons is a project developed between Anna Andersen, Denmark and Megumi Naitoh, USA. Both are ceramic artists working with 3D printing. Ceramic Commons celebrates an open-source environment and digital 3D technology that allows our work to be sent and shared across the world. Ten artists working with ceramic extruding 3D printers were invited to join the project by sending their creative common licensed work to us electronically. The collection of 10 works were printed by Anna and exhibited in Denmark in 2018. This year the collection was printed in the ceramic studio on Emmanuel College campus by Megumi and her student assistants. This project is scheduled to be printed and shown at the Midlands Arts Centre in the UK in 2020. This is an organic and open ended process that encourages dialogues about sharing resources and issues around authorship and aesthetic control.
